Homemade Apple Pie
This is my mom's delicious and flaky homemade apple pie recipe. From the crust to the filling, this recipe is made from scratch and tastes just wonderful!
Ingredients
2 cups flour
2/3 Cup vegetable oil
1/3 cup boiling water
pinch of baking soda
Crust:
Apple filling:
6 medium apples
2/3 cup sugar
2 tbsp flour
1 tbsp cinnamon
Directions:
1. Slice apples into 1/8" - 1/4" slices. Mix apples with sugar, flour and cinnamon. Set aside.
2. Mix flour and soda in medium bowl, then add boiling water and oil. Mix together well.
3. Divide dough in half and roll between two sheets of waxed paper. (lightly flour the wax paper to keep the dough from sticking) Bottom crust should be rolled out to be 2" wider than pie pan.
4. Place bottom crust into pie pan. Fill with apple filling.
5. Place top crust over apple filling. Trim edges and fold over bottom crust edges. Flute as desired. Using a knife, cut several small vents into top crust.
6. Bake pie in preheated oven at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
